The Day after....again!

After not being able to go to Spurn for the Isabelline Wheatear yesterday it was too much to hope that it would stay another day, no sign of it this morning despite a good search of the area with Andy and Mark plus several other hopeful birders and apart from a few Thrushes coming in Spurn was very quiet, a Black Redstart at the Point being the best of it although that at least was a year tick. Thoroughly fed up we departed mid afternoon and went round to Blacktoft for the Raptor roost, the place was heaving and the two far hides were packed, Andy managed to find a Water Pipit in front of Singleton hide while we were in there (another year tick) but we ended up moving back to the First hide to find a bit of room, this proved rather fortuitous though as a passing Marsh Harrier swooped down over the reeds out in front and flushed a ringtail Hen Harrier although that was it, nothing much more happened.
